Wrexham’s Mullin on ‘bite’: Not what it looks like

Wrexham forward Paul Mullin has said he did not bite Birmingham City left-back Alec Cochrane’s leg, insisting it is not what it looks like.

Birmingham ran out 3-1 winners over Wrexham in a match dubbed the ‘Hollywood derby’ due to the teams’ famous owners — NFL legend Tom Brady has a minority stake in Birmingham, and Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney co-own Wrexham.

Mullin, who came off the bench on 63 minutes, was caught in a collision with Cochrane and then was shown by TV cameras to seemingly bite his opponents’ leg.

“I know what it looks like.. but it didn’t happen. Although you can tell his leg was thinking about attacking my mouth,” Mullin said in a post on X.

Wrexham remain top of League One, although the defeat ended their unbeaten start to the season and moved level on points with Birmingham, who have a game in-hand.
