Clubs can sign Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze with an offer worth £68 million next year, reports the Daily Mail.
It is reported that the release clause in the 26-year-old’s contract can be activated with an upfront offer worth £60m as well as a further £8m in add-ons, and it is set to become active again at the end of the current season.
Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are among the clubs believed to have shown interest in the England international over the summer. And while the Eagles are keen for Eze to sign a contract extension, it is understood that the release clause will remain untouched.
Eze has played a key role for manager Oliver Glasner’s side so far this season, scoring in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
– Chelsea’s transfer department are still busy amid hopes of offloading five players, reports the Standard. Ben Chilwell, 27, is the most senior figure that the club are looking to part ways with, having found himself out of new manager Enzo Maresca’s plans. Forwards David Datro Fofana and Deivid Washington are also among the five being moved on alongside Harvey Vale and Alex Matos.
– An offer has been made by Al Nassr to former Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to Corriere dello Sport. The 29-year-old has been available to sign as a free agent since his contract at the Allianz Stadium expired in the summer, and it is reported that the Saudi Pro League club have made him an offer worth 20m per season.
– Newcastle United won’t allow clubs to inflate transfer demands because of their owners, reports the Telegraph. The Magpies are said to have walked away from talks over a move for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guéhi due to being asked to make an offer worth £70m, amid plans to use a long-term strategy in identifying potential squad reinforcements.
– Ajax have failed in their attempt to sign Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, reports Fabrizio Romano. The Eredivisie side were keen to find a replacement for Steven Bergwijn after he made the switch to Al Ittihad, but after a late submission of paperwork for the 22-year-old, they will now have to wait until January to land him.
– Negotiations are underway between PAOK and the representatives of centre-back Kostas Manolas, according to Nicolo Schira. The 33-year-old, who has recently been linked with AS Roma, is available to sign as a free transfer after his contract expired with Serie B side Salernitana in June. Manolas last starred in the top flight of football in Greece during a spell for Olympiacos in 2022.
