Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has attracted interest from Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester City, reports the Evening Standard.
Following an impressive 2023-24 season in which the Germany international got 12 goals and eight assists across all competitions, Musiala has been linked from teams all across Europe. It has been reported that both Arsenal and Manchester City have been monitoring the 21-year-old, having established himself as one of the brightest talents in Europe.
Musiala still has two years left on his current deal with the Bavarian club, but the report suggests that the German giants are confident that they will keep the youngster at the club on a long-term basis, despite the strong links with Premier League clubs.
However, should no progress be made on a new deal for Musiala by next summer, Bayern could be placed in a difficult situation. Clubs in Europe will be able to take advantage of the fact that he would have just a year left on his deal, which could force Bayern to part ways with Musiala, should contract negotiations fail to progress.
– Napoli defender Mário Rui is seen as a potential alternative to AS Roma’s Nicola Zalewski should Galatasaray’s pursuit of the latter collapse, reports Gianluca Di Marzio. The Turkish giants have been pursuing a deal for Zalewski, but are facing a challenge to finalise the deal before Friday’s deadline. The report reveals that should Galatasaray feel that a deal for the Poland international will not materialise, they will pursue a move for Rui, who Napoli could offload.
– Galatasaray have seen their pursuit for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe collapse, reports L’Equipe. The tweet suggests that the two clubs were working on an agreement, however, the Turkish giants could not persuade the 23-year-old to join the club, which has seen the deal collapse. It was reported that Galatasaray had made an offer of 10m for the midfielder, with Frankfurt open to the departure, but it looks unlikely that a deal will materialise.
– Barcelona could have parted ways with forward Raphinha, but he rejected approaches from Saudi Arabia, reports Bild. Even though the Brazilian forward has proven to be a key player for Barcelona at the start of this season, notching three goals and three assists, he was a player that Barcelona could have parted ways with in the summer. It is reported that there was interest from Saudi Pro League clubs in the 27-year-old, but he rejected a salary package of over 100m.
– Lille midfielder Angel Gomes has emerged as a “top target” for Newcastle United, but faces competition from Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund, reports the Sun. The 24-year-old has impressed in France, where he notched 10 assists across all competitions last season, which has led to a recent England call-up. Gomes’ contract with Lille expires next summer, which has alerted several clubs to his situation. It has been reported that Gomes will not renew his deal with the French club, leading him to become a priority target for Newcastle.
– Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has agreed a new deal with the club, reports The Athletic. The Ukraine international had one year left on his contract, though previous reports indicated that he had been close to securing a new deal with Los Blancos. It is reported that Lunin held doubts over a new contract, due to the lack of playing time he may receive, but the report reveals that he has now agreed to a new three-year contract with the Spanish giants.
