After landing a big hit on Michael Kesselring, Malenstyn was challenged to a fight by the Utah defender. From there, Malenstyn gladly accepted.
Both Malenstyn and Kesselring threw some hard punches, but the Sabres winger landed the takedown.

In 26 games this season with the Sabres, Malenstyn had two goals, four points, and 58 hits.
