The Buffalo Sabres suffered an ugly 5-2 loss to the Utah Hockey Club on Saturday (Dec. 7). With this, the Sabres now have an 11-13-3 record and have lost six straight games.

Following the game, Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff expressed clear frustration with the team’s play in the loss. Here is what the Sabres bench boss said on the matter:
“I think you can guess how I’m feeling… This is mentally one of the weakest games I’ve seen where you go offside that number of times. You don’t execute the small plays… So, the execution part, and us executing at a high level, was not good.”
Ruff’s anger is easy to understand, as the Sabres played a very sloppy game. It will be fascinating to see how the Atlantic Division club responds to their ugly loss against Utah from here. Hopefully, they can get things back on track against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night (Dec. 9).
