Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has returned to the Spanish capital with an ankle injury, after playing for Franced on Thursday night. The 26-year-old forward also missed game time during the last international break through injury.
Les Bleus secured their place at the World Cup in 2026 in the United States, Mexico and Canada with a 4-0 win over Ukraine at the Parc des Princes in Paris. Mbappe was heavily involved, opening the scoring in the 55th minute from the penalty spot, scoring the third and assisting the fourth, as he played the full match.
However the France Football Federation (via Marca) have announced that Mbappe has left the France camp to return to Madrid due to an injury, after suffering inflammation in his right ankle. He will undergo further tests with Real Madrid to understand the extent of Mbappes issues. It is worth noting that Mbappe did not participate in Frances second international fixture in October due to the same issue.
