According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Judkins has signed a four-year, fully-guaranteed deal worth $11.4 million.
Judkins, one of the Browns’ two 2025 second-round draft picks, is not expected to play in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but could be available next week for their matchup with the Baltimore Ravens.
Legal issues have held up Judkins signing his rookie contract after being arrested in July. Last month, the Broward State Attorneys Office announced the Ohio State product would not face formal misdemeanor battery charges after prosecutors declined to move forward with the case due to several factors, including “late reporting of the alleged incident to police, no surveillance video, and no independent witnesses.”
Judkins was accused of punching a woman in the chin/lip area, arm and thigh at an airport. Prosecutors declined to move forward with the case due to late reporting, a lack of video and a lack of witnesses to the alleged incident.
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam told reporters last month that he was “cautiously optimistic” Judkins would eventually sign and play for the team, but added that he was letting due process play out and called the Browns’ repeated connection to domestic abuse allegations “extremely frustrating.”
Last year, Judkins helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship with three touchdowns in their title game win over Notre Dame. He transferred to Ohio State from Ole Miss ahead of the 2024 season, and he led the team with 1,060 rushing yards.
