Christian Pulisic has broken silence after missing out on yet another international game which left fans perplexed.
The USMNT captain is one of many American superstars absent from the national teams final camp of the year. Pulisic had been nursing a hamstring injury ever since the October international break and only just returned for Milan last weekend.
But the influential winger have now stated that missing out on the November international window is the best decision for himself, the U.S. mens national team and AC Milan as he works to return to full fitness.
There were rumours of a brewing feud between the USMNT and AC Milan over Christian Pulisics fitness, but the 27-year-old revealed both sides are on the same page when it came to prioritizing his health.
During an exclusive interview with Paramount+ that took place before he returned to action for AC Milan, Christian Pulisic addressed the reason behind his absence.
Speaking with the people at Milan, but also when I was leaving the national team, we had good conversations, Pulisic told Kate Scott.
I havent come back and played yet. So I dont think its right for me to fly over there and try to get my first games back with the national team. When I just want to make sure I have the time now to fully care for myself and make sure that my hamstring is doing well and allow other guys to take the place.
So I think its just the best decision for everyone right now, he added.
One of the players who have received a surprise callup from Mauricio Pochettino in place of Christian Pulisic is young phenom Gio Reyna. Timmy Tillman also made Pochettinos roster after Tyler Adams was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Despite getting sidelined for both Milan and the USMNT, Pulisic is not letting his hamstring injury dampen his spirits. Instead, he is pushing for younger talents to get a chance in the team, highlighting his dedication to the USMNT even when hes not playing.
