Esperance de Tunis will no longer be able to count on their Algerian winger Youcef Belaili for the 2025-2026 season.

After suffering a cruciate ligament rupture in the latest derby against Club Africain on Matchday 14 of the Ligue 1, the Fennec will be sidelined for an extended period.

The four-time CAF Champions League winners have reached an agreement with their former star Youssef Msakni, who is now a free agent and will look to reignite his career with his boyhood club.

This is a great opportunity for the Carthage Eagles captain to get back on the pitch, as he hasn’t played since May 7th, when his former club Al Araby lost to Al-Shamal SC in the Amir Cup round of 16.

For the record, Youssef Msakni has already played 136 matches for the Blood and Gold between 2008 and 2013, racking up 48 goals and 37 assists.
