It’s unreal… Let’s go for the unreal: Mbappé’s latest moment of madness

Kylian Mbappé has once again made headlines, but this time… with his words. Fresh off securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup after a resounding 40 win over Ukraine, the French national team captain was already looking far beyond the present. Having just netted a brace and bringing his career tally to 400 goals at only 26 years old, the Real Madrid forward made a statement that left everyone stunned: one day, he wants to reach the mythical 1,000-goal mark.

Speaking to TF1, Mbappé made no secret of his ambition, admitting that his current 400 goals are, in his eyes, far from the summit:

In his sights: two legendsLionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldoboth of whom have surpassed 900 career goals. So why not him?

And when a journalist dared to mention the number one thousand, Mbappé smiled and replied:

His current pace is staggering. Between November 2023 and November 2025, Mbappé has scored 100 goals in two yearsabout 50 per season, combining club and national team. If he keeps up this tempo, he would need another 600 goals to reach 1,000. That would mean twelve more years of peak performance, taking him to age 38.

The challenge seems immense, almost superhuman. Staying at the top for so long demands flawless discipline, injury resistance, and an environment that allows him to rack up XXL seasons. But Mbappé openly draws inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo: He shows us it’s possible.

The goal is crazy. But so is Mbappé. And that’s precisely why this quest is starting to seem believable: the Frenchman wants to leave a mark. And he’s ready to redefine the limits to make it happen.
