Josko Gvardiol was on target as Croatia beat Faroe Islands 3-1 in their penultimate World Cup qualifier.
Men’s Team
Croatia have already qualified for the 2026 tournament and kept up their unbeaten record on their way to the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
A win would have kept up Faroe Islands remote hopes of joining them and they took a shock first half lead through Grimsbys Geza Turi.
But their lead lasted just seven minutes before Gvardiol equalised when the ball broke loose in the box and he fired a low shot into the bottom corner.
Croatia dominated and finally secured the win with second half goals from Petar Musar and Nikola Vlasic.

Netherlands all-but clinched their place for next summers tournament as Tijjani Reijnders helped them secure a crucial 1-1 draw with closest rivals Poland.
The City midfielder was a second half substitute as the Dutch fought back after Jakub Kaminskis opener threatened to move the Poles top of Group G.
Memphis Depay equalised shortly after the break in Warsaw for Netherlands, who also had Nathan Ake on the bench.
A point in their final group game against Lithuania would guarantee their place, but a 13-goal better goal difference means they would be unlikely to miss out even with a defeat.
Earlier in the day, Abdukodir Khusanov played a full 90 minutes in Uzbekistans 2-0 victory in Egypt in a friendly.
Both countries have qualified for the 2026 World Cup and it was Khusanovs side who boosted their preparations with a win in Abu Dhabi.
Oston Urunov scored both goals while defender Khusanov helped Uzbekistan to a clean sheet against an Egyptian side who were without City team-mate Omar Marmoush.
Meanwhile, Rico Lewis was in action for the England under-21s as they beat Ireland 2-0 in their European Under-21 Championship at St Andrews.
Divin Mubama, on loan at Stoke from City, got the opener from the penalty spot, while Max Alleyne, on loan at Watford from the Blues, also started.
