A night to remember for Inter Milan youngster Francesco Pio Esposito, who marked his growing reputation with his first senior goal for Italy in the 2-0 win over Moldova in Chisinau.

The young striker came off the bench to seal the result late on, continuing an impressive rise through both club and international levels.

Speaking to Rai Sport after the final whistle, Esposito couldnt hide his pride at scoring for his country.

Its always a great emotion to play for this shirt, and even more so to score, he said, with quotes via FCInterNews.

The young forward, who has been steadily integrated into Gennaro Gattusos Azzurri setup, also spoke about his growing chemistry with fellow striker Mateo Retegui.

I get on very well with Mate, Esposito explained.

Hes a very complete striker. But honestly, all the forwards are compatible theres a really good connection between all of us.

Italy now turn their focus to Sundays qualifier against Norway at San Siro.

Indeed, Esposito admitted that the chance to score in his home stadium would be extra special.

Furthermore, particularly given that hes yet to find the net there in Inter colours.

It would be really nice, yes, he smiled.

Also because I havent scored at San Siro yet, not even with Inter maybe itll happen with the national team.

Espositos enthusiasm and maturity continue to underline why both Inter and Italy see him as a star for the future.

He has settled in well as his role as Lautaros deputy for the Nerazzurri.

Indeed, he has done enough to get minutes from Azzurri coach Gattuso.
