Former Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Reaves was suspended by the NHL for five games after his hit on Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse.
Reaves, 37, was given a five-game suspension by the league and a $35,156.25 fine. The money goes to the Players Emergency Assistance Fund.
The 6-foor-2 forward spent one season in Minnesota. He recorded five goals, 15 points, 152 hits, and 31 penalty mintues.
