Philadelphia Flyers prospect Samu Tuomaala had a solid first full campaign with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms last season. In 69 games, the 2021 second-round pick had 15 goals and 43 points. With numbers like these, Tuomaala showed that he can produce well offensively at the American Hockey League (AHL) level.

However, Tuomaala is now hitting a new level with the Phantoms this season. In his first 14 games with the AHL club, he has six goals and 16 points. What makes this even more encouraging is that he is not slowing down, either. In fact, he is only playing better.
Tuomaala is currently on a five-game point streak, where he has three goals and five assists over that span. This is fantastic production from the 21-year-old forward, and he undoubtedly is getting the attention of the Flyers.
If Tuomaala continues to play this well, the possibility of him getting a call-up at some point this season will surely be there. This is especially so if the Flyers end up dealing with more injury trouble during the season.
It will be interesting to see how Tuomaala builds on his great start to the season from here.
