Devils Coach Participating in Team Culture & Mental Performance Training Camp

OAKVILLE, O.N. — Time and Space Athlete will hold its Elite Team Culture and Mental Performance Training Camp on Aug. 22, and New Jersey Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe will be one of its presenters.

Keefe, Canadian ice hockey player Brianne Jenner, and championship coach Lee M.J. Elias will speak virtually.

Mental performance coach Dr. Cassidy Preston, cognitive behavioral sports specialist and consultant Larissa Mills, and mental performance coach Riley Watson will attend the Oakville, Ontario, event in person.

The mental aspect of the game has been garnering attention around the league as more players, including Devils winger Jesper Bratt, publicly speak about the positive influence of mental skills coaches.

On May 23, the Devils announced that the team had hired Sheldon Keefe as its 22nd head coach in team history.

“Sheldon jumped to the top of my list when he became available, and I was thrilled when he agreed to be a part of what we are building here,” general manager Tom Fitzgerald said in the press release. “He is an excellent communicator, believes in collaboration, and will take what he has learned previously to make this team a Stanley Cup contender.”

Fans will get their first official look at Keefe behind the bench when the 2024-25 season opens on Oct. 4 against Lindy Ruff and the Buffalo Sabres in Prague, Czechia. His first home game at Prudential Center will be days later, on Oct. 10, against his former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
