Slafkovsky made his way to the Slovakia capital of Bratislava to take part in an Olympic festival celebration. He made waves by racing against Slovakian triathlete Richard Varga in a kayak race. While he looked steady in the photos posted on X, at one point, he was partially submerged underwater. Nonetheless, the Habs attacker made quick work of his competition.

While the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics are currently ongoing, Slafkovsky is no stranger to the games himself. In the 2022 games in Beijing, the young Slovak helped to lead his country to a bronze medal win, scoring seven goals in seven games during the games. He was named tournament MVP at just 17 years old.

This weekend, Slafkovsky spoke about aspiring to return to the Olympic Games in 2026. He was quoted as saying Im ready to represent my country at the Olympics qualification, but the decision is not up to me. Montreal Canadiens management will decide whether I will participate. They have to say how they see it.
This off-season, Slafkovsky signed an eight-year extension with Montreal worth $60.8 M, or $7.6 M annually.
