CINCINNATI — Ja’Marr Chase made one guy miss. Then another. Then he was gone.
The Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver turned an intermediate reception into a 63-yard touchdown to give the Bengals a 14-7 lead over the Carolina Panthers with 7:14 left in the first half.
Chase caught a crossing route over the middle and then kicked into an extra gear. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, Chase was projected to have 1.5 yards after the catch. Instead, he got 50.
The three-time Pro Bowl receiver has continued the momentum from last week. After not having a touchdown in the first two games, Chase caught two deep balls last week for his first scores of the season.
Now he can tack on another big gain to that list of touchdowns.
