Kees Smit is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after young midfielders in Europe, having impressed with AZ Alkmaar and the Netherlands youth national teams.
The 19-year-old starlet, recently compared to Barcelona midfield maestro Pedri by Ronald Koeman, happens to be on the radars of the Blaugrana.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also very much interested in the young Dutchman, while other clubs from across Europe are also tracking his development.
Now, according to a report from Sky Sport (h/t AS), AZ Alkmaar are prepared to let Smit leave in the summer transfer window next year.
Furthermore, it is claimed that the Dutch giants will ask for a transfer fee of a little over 25 million for the teenage prospect a sum that should not be an issue for any of the interested parties, including Barcelona.

However, whether the reigning La Liga champions see the signing of a new midfielder as a priority remains the big question.
For now, the focus is on signing a top-level centre-forward to replace Robert Lewandowski, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Beyond that, Hansi Flick & co. will also look for a centre-back to fill the void left by Inigo Martinezs unexpected departure earlier this year.
So, whether the signing of a new midfielder, such as Smit, is on the Catalans agenda is a question mark, especially with Flick having the likes of Pedri, Marc Casado, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Marc Bernal at his disposal already.
But in case Barcelona decide to go after the teenage Dutchman in 2026, a deal will take a sum of around 25 million.
