The Baltimore Orioles are finalizing a deal to acquire outfielder Eloy Jimenez from the Chicago White Sox, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Jimenez has never played more than 122 games during his injury-plagued six-year career with the White Sox.
Jimenez is hitting .240 with five home runs and 16 RBIs in 65 games this season.
In a separate deal Tuesday, Baltimore is also acquiring left-handed reliever Gregory Soto from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for right-handed pitching prospect Seth Johnson, sources told ESPN.
Soto, 29, has a 4.08 ERA and two saves across 35 innings this season for the Phillies.
Johnson, 25, has spent the season in Double-AA and has a 2.63 ERA.
