Rob McElhenney reveals he is hoping to watch Wrexham play Birmingham in League One with Tom Brady. (0:44)
Wrexham striker Paul Mullin has made a surprise cameo appearance in the new Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine.
The 29-year-old was masked for his role in the film, which comes in a scene featuring numerous Deadpool versions. Mullin’s iteration of the superhero features a Wales flag emblazoned across his costume.
Deadpool & Wolverine stars Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, who along with Rob McElhenney, is the co-owner of Wrexham.
For those not as eagle-eyed, Reynolds highlighted Mullin’s cameo in a post on social media.
“You may have noticed one member of the Deadpool Corps was far deadlier than the rest. WELSHPOOL,” he wrote.
Mullin’s appearance in the film has since seen Wrexham update his player profile on their website to an image of him in a Deadpool costume.
The striker’s rise in profile however has come for his heroics on the field. He has scored more than 100 goals for Wrexham in three seasons, playing an integral role in their successive promotions from National League to League 1.
Deadpool & Wolverine also sees Mullin’s teammate Ollie Palmer make an appearance as a bartender in one of the scenes.
