Adams’ agents call trade speculation ‘baseless’

The agents for Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams called trade speculation surrounding their client “baseless” and “unfounded” on Tuesday.

“This is baseless, unfounded speculation and Davante is expected to be with the Raiders as there has been absolutely no trade talk — period,” agents Kenny Chapman and Frank Bauer said in a statement released to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Raiders general manager Tom Telesco said at the scouting combine that Adams “is a Raider,” shutting down the prospect of entertaining trade talks for the six-time Pro Bowler.

However, that hasn’t ended speculation about Adams’ future. Last weekend at the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers said of his former Green Bay Packers teammate, “I love Davante. I can’t wait to play with him … again.”

That prompted speculation that the Jets might be trying to reunite Adams with Rodgers in New York.
