NASCAR officials issued a penalty Wednesday for an on-track infraction after the checkered flag of last weekends NASCAR Cup Series race at the Chicago Street Course.
Bubba Wallace, driver of the No. 23 23XI Racing Toyota, was fined $50,000 for violating Sections 4.4.B & D: NASCAR Member Code of Conduct during Sundays Grant Park 165.

During the cool-down lap after the conclusion of the 2024 Chicago Street Race, Wallace slammed the door of his No. 23 machine into the side of Chicago winner Alex Bowmans no. 48 Chevrolet. The post-race frustration came after a Lap 25 incident when Bowmans Hendrick Motorsports Chevy tangled up with the No. 23, causing Wallace to clip the side and spin into the wall. Wallace subsequently finished the race in 13th and currently sits 17th in the playoff standings, 45 points underneath the elimination line for the 16-driver field.
The Cup Series continues its regular season at Pocono Raceway this Sunday (2:30 p.m. ET, USA, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, NBC Sports App).
