The latest edition of the Secretaries’ Cup takes place on Saturday between the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Coast Guard Academy at Fenway Park.
Similar to Army-Navy, the Secretaries’ Cup is a massive Division III football game. Merchant Marine owns the all-time record against Coast Guard, 37-16. Coast Guard won the last game.
Run-first QB Bubba Mustain and Merchant Marine (6-2) started the season hot, but the Mariners have gone 2-2 in their last four games.
A seven-game win streak ended for the Bears against Springfield last week. Coast Guard (7-2) attempts to rebound and win two straight against Merchant Marine for the first time since 1996 and 1997 behind an explosive offense led by QB Sean Burns (1,890 passing yards, 17 TDs) and running back Harrison Hensley (1,384 rushing yards, 16 TDs).
