Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is in his first full year as a starter, and before that, he was one of the highest rated recruits.

Coming out of high school, Manning was rated as the No.1 overall quarterback from the class of 2023. He played high school football at Isidore Newman in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Let’s take a look back at his high school career, including stats, other NFL players who went there and more.

Arch Manning went to Isidore Newman, which is a college prep school located in New Orleans. The school is quite small, listed as having an enrollment of over 1,200 students from grades pre-K-12.

Here’s a look at Arch Manning’s high school stats, via MaxPreps. As you can see, his best season passing came as a freshman in 2019, throwing for 2,509 yards with 34 touchdowns and six interceptions. He rushed for a career-high 356 yards with six touchdowns in 2021.

As Arch Manning’s struggles have been in the national spotlight, there have been rumblings on social media about some of his high school tape. Some of the highlights that have circulated makes it seem as if Manning wasn’t playing the best competition.

Manning did not attend any of the recruiting camps like Elite 11 or Under Armour All-American. So his high school tape and recruiting ranking is what most fans have to go off of, as far as his high school football career.

Over his four seasons at Newman, Manning compiled a 33-6 overall record and led his team to a district championship in 2020. They made the playoffs in each of his four seasons.

According to the most recent LHSAA district alignments, Newman plays in 2A, in district 10 in New Orleans. The LHSAA goes all the way up to Class 5A, so Newman plays in the second-to-lowest tier in the state.

Some of Louisiana’s best high school football teams like Edna Kerr, Ruston, John Curtis and St. Augustine all play at the 5A level.

Arch Manning going to Isidore isn’t too much of a surprise. He was born in New Orleans, and Isidore is where his uncles Peyton and Eli also went.

Isidore also produced the likes of former LSU and NFL star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., as well as former Giants receiver Omar Douglas.

According to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, in his three-year high school career, Peyton Manning passed for 7,207 yards and 92 touchdowns. He ran for 13 more. He led Newman to a 34-5 record and into the playoffs all three years.

According to an archived ESPN article from 2012, Manning threw for 7,421 yards with over 80 touchdowns at Newman.
