"Florian doesn't let it get to him" Germany boss insists Wirtz is unfazed by English criticism

Florian Wirtz has faced plenty of criticism in England for not yet making the impact expected of him since his move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool.

But the 22-year-old isnt letting the criticism get to him, Germany sporting director Rudi Völler told the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger.

Its not unusual in England, where there are many experts who feel entitled to offer very direct criticism of players, Völler said.

But Florian doesnt let it affect him were seeing it here with the national team because he knows that assists or goals arent the only proof of quality in football.

Even though Wirtz has yet to register a goal or assist in 11 Premier League matches, Völler believes the German star has already shown his running and technical abilities many times in the Premier League.

He will find his way at Liverpool. I have no doubt about that, the 65-year-old emphasized.

According to Völler, Wirtzs big step from Bayer Leverkusen to the English champions demonstrates his courage and confidence.

Florian is a wonderful player, and people in England will soon see that too.
