On Thursday evening, during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with the France national team, Kylian Mbappé netted a brace. He was even named man of the match against Ukraine (4-0), having played a pivotal role in Frances qualification for the next World Cup. Speaking to TF1 after the match, the Real Madrid striker reflected on his 400th career goal.
“We’re getting closer, but as Ive already said, there are two playersone with 950, another with over 900so 400 doesnt really impress. If you want to shock people, youll need to score at least 400 more. Im very happy, its a symbolic milestone, but theres still work to do. 1,000 goals? Thats unreal. CR7 shows us its possible, so lets try for the impossible. A career goes by fast, so Im trying to leave my mark,” he declared.
