A pair of Texas teams that turned in impressive regular season now want to start the postseason at 1-0.
Dallas Kimball and Sulphur Springs square off in the bi-district round of the University Interscholastic League 4A Division I playoffs Thursday night. The game will be played at Mesquite’s Memorial Stadium.

Kimball finished the regular season at 7-3, and the Knights finished in a three-way tie for the District 8-4A Division I title along with two more Dallas schools – Carter and Lincoln. The Knights enter postseason play having won their last three regular season games and six of their past seven contests.
Sulphur Springs finished 9-1, with the Wildcats’ lone defeat coming to defending 4A DI champion Celina. The Wildcats were the runner-up behind Celina in District 7-4A Division I.
Since that loss to Celina, Sulphur Springs won its last four games to end the regular season, including edging Frisco Panther Creek, 20-13, last week.
