The Los Angeles Dodgers’ two-way superstar won the NL MVP again, because of course he did.
He didn’t just make history by winning it unanimously, with all 30 first-place votes, although he did that, too.
Ohtani made history by joining Barry Bonds in an exclusive club.
There are now two players in MLB history who have won the MVP more than four times: Bonds and Ohtani.
Bonds won seven of them, while this is Ohtani’s fourth, so there’s still a ways to go.
But is anyone betting against Ohtani getting a few more?
If he stays healthy, it seems like a foregone conclusion.

How do you beat a guy who hits more than 50 home runs and also puts up one of the best ERA marks in the league?
You don’t.
If Ohtani had been in the AL this season, it would’ve been quite interesting in a showdown with Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh.
But no offense to Kyle Schwarber and his 56 home runs, but a DH wasn’t going to beat out the two-way Ohtani.
This is his award until he decides to give it up. And he may not give it up until he gets up in Bonds’ level of seven MVPs.
