The Detroit Lions injury participation report from Thursday unfortunately progressed in the wrong direction. With the Philadelphia Eagles looming on the schedule for Sunday night in Week 11, the Lions downgraded two players from Wednesday’s session to Thursday.
Defensive lineman Pat O’Connor dropped from being a limited participant to not participating at all. O’Connor, who is also a key member of the Lions’ special teams units, is sidelined with a knee injury. Joining O’Connor on the downgrade list is cornerback Amik Robertson.
Robertson was a full participant on Wednesday but suffered a hamstring issue on Thursday, which now gives him a limited participant status.
There were some upgrades on the positive side. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson (elbow) and center Graham Glasgow (back) were full participants on Thursday. RT Penei Sewell, TE Brock Wright and RB Sione Vaki all improved from out to limited participants, too. With starting TE Sam LaPorta still sidelined with a back issue, Wright’s return is a particularly welcome one.
Laporta is one of four Lions who missed the practice due to injury, along with O’Connor, safety Kerby Joseph (knee) and cornerback Terrion Arnold (concussion).
The Lions will release the final injury status report after Friday’s practice.
