NBC Sports Network is officially back on Monday.
NBC announced that it would re-launch the network on Nov. 17 for YouTube TV and Comcast customers with other distributors to be announced at a later date. NBC is bringing back its cable channel after spinning off its cable channels like USA, Golf Channel and others into a new company called Versant. NBC originally shut NBCSN down at the end of 2021.
The channel will broadcast Monday night regular-season NBA games as well as NBA playoff games and is expected to also have the rights to dozens of MLB games in a yet-to-be announced agreement with the league. NBC has been in talks with MLB over a TV deal with the league and could take over the Sunday Night Baseball mantle.
NBC also said that the channel would televise Premier League soccer matches and include Gold Zone for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Gold Zone is a version of the NFLs Red Zone hosted by Scott Hanson that shows pivotal Olympic events.
The channel will also show college football games from the Big Ten and Notre Dame along with college basketball and WNBA games. NBCs coverage of The Open and the U.S. Open golf tournaments will also include NBCSN.
It looks like the channel will contain much of the NBC programming that is currently broadcast on USA Sports as the Versant spinoff is set to be official in the near future. USA Sports is now its own entity as the department will have the rights to other WNBA games, NASCAR races, Pac-12 sporting events and other games.
