Sarina Wiegman has named her first England squad since Julys 2025 European Championship victory.
There are first senior call-ups for Arsenal centre-back Katie Reid, 19, Arsenal full-back Taylor Hinds, 26, and Aston Villa midfielder Lucia Kendall, 21.
England are without three members of their Euro 2025 winning squad through injury, with captain Leah Williamson, forward Lauren James and winger Lauren Hemp all sidelined.
Lucy Bronze is included, having missed the start of the campaign after playing through a fractured tibia during the Euros and sustaining a knee injury at the tournament. She returned for Chelsea as a substitute in second-half stoppage time against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. Bronze is one of 20 members of the Lionesses Euros side named in Wiegmans 25-player squad.
Midfielders Laura Blindkilde Brown and Missy Bo Kearns also return to the side after being named on standby for the Euros.
England play Brazil at the Etihad Stadium on October 25 and Australia at Pride Park on October 28. Wiegmans side are playing two friendlies during Octobers international window after failing to qualify for the semi-finals of the Nations League.
Williamson underwent minor knee surgery following the Euros and Arsenal head coach Renee Slegers said the defender is expected to return before Decembers winter break. In her absence, Reid has started five of Arsenals six WSL matches this season, and has previously been capped up to under-23 level for England.
Taylor-Hinds joined Arsenal from Liverpool in the summer. After representing England at youth level, she played one friendly at senior level for Jamaica in 2024.
James has missed the start of the season after picking up an injury during this summers tournament in Switzerland, while Hemp has been out since suffering an ankle injury in September.
Fellow defender Millie Bright announced her retirement from international football on Monday after making herself unavailable for selection for the Euros.
Bronzes return to the England squad is not particularly surprising given she featured for Chelsea against Spurs at the weekend, but it remains a reassuring boost for Wiegman, especially given key players such as Hemp, Williamson and James are sidelined. Her experience and leadership will be invaluable.
Katie Reids inclusion is certainly justified as she has impressed in Williamsons absence, showing maturity and composure.
Hinds call-up, however, raises a few eyebrows given her limited game time at Arsenal this season, making it one of the more unexpected selections.
Meanwhile, Kendall remains an unknown quantity, having moved from Championship side Southampton to Aston Villa in the summer. Her selection suggests Wiegman is looking to the future.
