Todd Granthams time at Oklahoma State lasted all of four games.
According to ESPN, Grantham was fired Sunday after the Cowboys dropped to 1-3 following a loss to Baylor on Saturday. The Bears won 45-27 and had 612 yards of total offense as QB Sawyer Robertson threw for 393 yards and four touchdowns.
Granthams firing comes less than a week after Oklahoma State fired coach Mike Gundy after over 20 seasons with the school. Gundy, the most successful coach in Oklahoma State history, was fired Tuesday following the Cowboys Friday night home loss to Tulsa in Week 4. That loss to Tulsa the Golden Hurricane’s first in Stillwater in over 70 years came after Oklahoma State lost 69-3 at Oregon.
Grantham came to Oklahoma State ahead of the 2024 season as Gundy replaced both his offensive and defensive coordinators after a disastrous 3-9 season. Things did not get better on defense in 2025.
A season ago, OSU ranked 126th in the country in scoring defense and allowed 35.6 points per game along with 6.8 yards per play. Through four games in 2025, Oklahoma State is allowing 35 points per game and seven yards per play.
Offensive coordinator Doug Meacham was named the teams interim coach after Gundys firing. He was also hired after the 2024 season.
Grantham came to Oklahoma State after spending two seasons as the New Orleans Saints defensive line coach. The longtime college football coach has also spent time at Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Georgia, Louisville, Mississippi State, Florida and Alabama and OSU was his fifth stop as a defensive coordinator.
Oklahoma State goes to Arizona in Week 6 before hosting Houston. The Cowboys have lost 11 straight conference games dating back to the 2023 Big 12 championship game.
