Falcons WR Drake London reportedly considered 'day-to-day' with sprained shoulder after loss to Buccaneers

Drake London appears to have avoided a major injury.

The Atlanta Falcons star left their 23-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early on Sunday with an apparent shoulder injury. London, according to the NFL Networks Ian Rapoport, sustained a shoulder sprain in the loss. Hes now being considered day-to-day, which is a good sign all things considered.

London went down late in the fourth quarter after he nearly hauled in a touchdown pass at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. London appeared to catch a short 4-yard toss from Michael Penix Jr. in the end zone with heavy coverage from cornerback Jamel Dean. London landed directly on his shoulder, however, and ended up dropping the ball.

The call was upheld after a challenge from the Falcons, too.

While Atlanta eventually scored on the drive Penix ran it in himself just a few plays later, which put them in the lead at the time London left the field in clear pain and did not return.

London finished the day with 55 yards on a team-high eight catches. The 24-year-old is coming off a career-campaign last season, where he racked up 1,271 and nine touchdowns on 100 receptions.

The Buccaneers responded after Penixs touchdown with a score of their own when Baker Mayfield hit Emeka Egbuka for a 25-yard score with just 59 seconds on the clock. The Falcons had a look to tie the game in the final seconds, but kicker Younghoe Koo missed a 44-yarder that would have forced overtime.

With his day-to-day designation, its unclear if London will end up missing any time for the Falcons. Theyll take on the Minnesota Vikings next weekend in Minneapolis. If he is sidelined, though, it doesnt sound like itll be for very long.
