Ex-Flyers Enforcer Placed On Waivers For Contract Termination

The Carolina Hurricanes have placed former Philadelphia Flyers forward Brendan Lemieux on unconditional waivers for the purpose of mutual contract termination.

Lemieux, 28, was placed on waivers by the Hurricanes back on Oct. 16 and then sent down to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. In 12 games with the AHL squad this season, the gritty forward had two goals, 30 penalty minutes, and a minus-4 rating.

Lemieux appeared in 16 games with the Flyers during the 2022-23 campaign, where he had two goals, six points, 52 hits, and a plus-3 rating.

Lemieux’s time with the Flyers ended when he joined the Hurricanes before the start of the 2023-24 season.
