The winter transfer window won’t reopen in Europe for a while yet, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!
Manchester United are gathering information for a potential deal to sign Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies, according to Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg.
Davies’ current contract at Bayern will expire in the summer, and whilst the Bundesliga club are reportedly keen to extend his deal, his future with the club looks uncertain as no talks regarding a contract extension have taken place. This uncertainty over Davies’ future has placed several clubs on alert regarding the potential to secure Davies as a free transfer.
One of those clubs is Manchester United, who have reportedly gathered information regarding a deal for the Canadian international. It is reported that United view Davies as the ideal candidate for left-back. Currently, United can only call upon Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia as recognised left-backs, with the injury problems of the former being a concern.
Whilst it is understood that the Red Devils previously made an informal inquiry to Davies’ camp, United are not the only club who hold an interest in the 23-year-old. Real Madrid have been heavily linked with a move for Davies and have previously been reported to be attentive to the opportunity to secure Davies as a free agent.
– Real Madrid are considering a possible move for Al Nassr defender Aymeric Laporte, reports AS. Laporte is being looked at as a potential addition for next season, with the player interested in leaving Saudi Arabia. However, the report reveals that Los Blancos are also considering other defensive options. Amongst these options is Chelsea’s Josh Acheampong, who sees his current contract with the Blues expire in 2026 and has not yet agreed to an extension. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are also looking at Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis, however, his valuation could prove too steep.
– Eintracht Frankfurt are demanding a fee between 50-60m for forward Omar Marmoush, amid Liverpool interest, per Sky Sports Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg. Liverpool and the Egyptian’s representatives have already been in contact, with the Premier League outfit emerging as a “serious option.” It is reported that Marmoush is keen to move to the Premier League and would be eager to secure a move to Liverpool, with the German club aware of Liverpool’s interest.
– Bayern Munich and Marseille remain interested in Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, but a January departure will not be straightforward, per TeamTalk. The Englishman has struggled over the last couple of seasons at Old Trafford, and with Rashford entering the last two years of his contract, a move away from his boyhood club could be on the cards. However, whilst the report suggests that a move in January is not impossible, it is reported that United would prefer to keep the winger at the club. Bayern Munich and Marseille have joined Paris Saint-Germain in monitoring the situation.
– Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has attracted attention from the MLS and Saudi Pro League, reveals Tom Bogert and Ben Jacobs. The Belgian sees his contract with City expire at the end of the season, and whilst the Premier League champions wish to keep the playmaker, there has been significant interest. It is reported that San Diego FC have held talks with De Bruyne’s representatives, with the player preferring a move to the MLS over Saudi Arabia should he leave City. There is reportedly significant interest from Saudi Arabia, where Al Nassr, Al Qadisah and Al Ahli have all expressed an interest in securing a deal for the 33-year-old.
– Borussia Dortmund have offered young defender Filippo Mané a long-term contract, per BILD. The German outfit have been keen to secure new deals for a number of their young players, which has seen Cole Campbell and Kjell-Arik Wätjen agree new contracts with the club. The report reveals that Dortmund have now identified Mané as a player that they want to secure the future of. It is reported that a “long-term professional contract” has been offered to the 19-year-old.
