Celtics GM Brad Stevens appears on Pat McAfee’s show and commends the qualities of Jaylen Brown.
BOSTON — Brad Stevens has had a whirlwind week since the Celtics achieved their goal.
He has transitioned from being a coach to serving as the president of basketball operations, gaining experience in all facets of the job.
He is also avoiding getting caught up in the expectations that are already surrounding him.
“In all honesty, the praise doesn’t hold much weight. And the criticism doesn’t hold much weight either,” Steve.
Stevens can take comfort in the fact that the Celtics are in a strong position to compete and potentially defeat their opponents.
The Celtics are expected to have secured long-term extensions with Brown, Holiday, and Porzingis.
Stevens is not expecting any significant changes this offseason.
The Celtics have the 30th and 54th picks in this week’s draft, but he mentioned that they are open to selecting any player.
I believe there are many factors to consider in maintaining the sustainability of this roster beyond the current year. However, speculation may be necessary.
Maintaining the existing core of this team will elevate the Celtics to the second tier of luxury.
Stevens anticipates that winning the title will make them a target for their competitors in the upcoming season.
Stevens said, “I am unsure of how the league will appear in three weeks, so it’s anyone’s guess.”
He stated that what this group has achieved is the chance to reunite and face that challenge together.
Stevens stated that we will continuously assess ways to improve our team, but he believes it would be foolish not to.
